Program Overview

Accounting Clerks provide valuable support within an organization’s accounting department, helping to handle daily financial records, data entry, payroll processing, income tax filing and other clerical and administrative tasks. They help ensure the accuracy of financial information and accounting records, which helps companies stay in compliance with tax laws. In this program, you’ll learn how to:

Apply accounting theory to service, merchandising and corporate organizations
Calculate payroll, maintain records and prepare financial statements and reports in compliance with state and federal requirements
Operate a variety of integrated accounting software programs, including QuickBooks
Apply the Internal Revenue Code as it relates to individual income taxes
Communicate effectively, act ethically and use critical thinking
